Since the 1930’s the Azienda Agricola Faraone has been growing the Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Passerina, and more recently, Pecorino grapes.
From 1970 they began bottling wines produced by their grapes: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo and Cerasuolo, all DOC and DOCG wines from the Colline Teramane; then from the 2000’s wines with the Appelation Collepietro ITG.

The History

The first vintage of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC to be bottled was in 1970, followed in 1971 by the first bottling of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC. The label “Le Vigne di Faraone” was given to the classic younger wines, whilst the label “Santa Maria dell’Arco” was given to the best “Riserva” vintages a DOCG o DOC..

The Tradition

The Tradition

Even with the label “Le Vigne di Faraone”, the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC, whose first bottle dates back to 1973, represents our house most traditional version of the Montepulciano. The wine for all occasions.
